Here’s something we shot this morning. Shooting pancakes is a lit like shooting pizzas. Pretty much the same kind of lighting…. I’m happy with it. Can’t go too moody when you’re shooting breakfast. Breakfast is “light and airy”, right?
We shot ribs today. I find that ribs are one of the most difficult things for a food photographer to shoot. The photographer has to put just the right amount of shine in just the right places. Too many reflections doesn’t let the viewer see the color of the sauce, and too few highlights makes…
Photographing a three-day project having to do with “grilling” for a local supermarket chain. We started off trying to make things look as though they were shot outdoors on a picnic table, and then decided that making the food look good was the priority. Here are some of the images from the first day’s shooting….
Here are a few hamburger and Hotdog photos we did recently. I think the mood of the shots are interesting. Not too open, but not contrasty. I stylist I often work with says that this type of food is “fun food” and shouldn’t be lit with too much contrast.
